Kamloops Cowboy Festival

On the second weekend in March every year you'll find Cowboy/Western Music, Cowboy Poetry, and a Western Art and Gear Show all at the Kamloops Cowboy Festival, Kamloops, BC. Ask about tickets at the Horse Barn!

Willow Creek Cowboy Gathering, Stavely, Alberta

Cowboy Poetry and Western Music so authentic you may need a shovel! The Willow Creek Cowboy Poetry and Western Music Society invites everyone to the annual Willow Creek Gathering. This three day event will feature entertainers trying to teach and preserve the heritage of the cowboy way and the pioneer spirit through music, humour, poetry (the western kind) and storytelling!

 

The Provincial Winter Fair            

This event's goal is to continue educating and entertaining the public about the diverse nature of local agriculture and its importance to our economy. Celebrating our agriculture industry and rural lifestyle is what BC's provincial fairs and exhibitions are all about. The Provincial Winter Fair proudly supports the 4H!

 


Places of Interest

 

The BC Cowboy Hall of Fame

Started by the BC Cowboy Heritage Society in 1998 it's home is now in the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin, in Williams Lake, BC. Every year approximately five cowboys are inducted into the Hall of Fame - some at the Kamloops Cowboy Festival and some at the Williams Lake Stampede. The Horse Barn is proud to be a sponsor! 

 

The Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin

Home of the BC Cowboy Hall of Fame, the Museum is dedicated to preserving and promoting ranching heritage. It is the only museum in BC to focus on ranching and rodeo, and it honours both the cowboys of the past and the present.

 

Meadow Springs Ranch

A BC Guest Ranch - A small guest ranch in the South Cariboo of BC, Meadow Springs Ranch is a working ranch that can take in up to a maximum of about 11 guests!

 

83 Mile House Farm Equipment Museum and Historic Site

You'll find displays that include not only tons of Horse Drawn Farm Equipment, but also Wagons, Carriages, Buggies, Cutters, Sleighs, Tools, and Much, Much More!
